The guiding concept for ECO2ZONE’s business and its development is that of “sustainability”, as originally publicised by the Bruntland Commission in 1987 in its report for the UN General Assembly entitled "Our Common Future", and defined as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs".

Nowadays sustainable development is becoming a crucial and increasingly urgent necessity. Awareness of the threat to humanity has led many countries to try to make common cause in drastically cutting pollution.

The 2020 climate and energy package approved by the European Parliament in December 2008 is one clear manifestation of this awareness.

The targets to be achieved by 2020 are:

  • A 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
  • A 20% increase in energy savings
  • A 20% increase in energy generated from renewable resources

ECO2ZONE’s R&D department designs innovative technology to reduce polluting atmospheric emissions. These technological solutions are developed and implemented by the following three lines of business:

Green Line - Energy Line - Building Line.

The effort ECO2ZONE puts into its R&D projects has qualified it for registration as an innovative start-up in the special section of the Chamber of Commerce.
